Jeff MooreJanuary 22, 2025Songs of a Lost World is a masterpiece, a beautifully written and performed album that I believe will be remembered as one of the band’s greatest achievements. These songs are the work of a genius artist, Robert Smith, who knows his time is drawing to a close and is wrestling with his mortality and impending fate. You can hear the sorrow and longing in his voice, backed up by some of the best music the band has ever played. I cannot say enough good things about this album. I’m so grateful we got one more Cure album before the band retires. I know there is talk of another album in the works, but if this turns out to be the last album by The Cure it would be a remarkable send off.

BTDecember 27, 2024The album sounds great. Nice packaging, great sound. But I have to say more care needs to be taken in the shipping mailer. Upon arrival - I noticed the mailer wasn't even taped shut. Thankfully it arrived in perfect condition, but someone could have easily removed the record from the shipping packaging.

Simon LeeNovember 18, 2024To say that Songs of a Lost World is an incredible album is an understatement. The songs are quintessentially The Cure, with layered sonic landscapes and the lovely 6-string bass being ever present, but cover new ground in terms of the music itself (particularly Warsong and Drone:No Drone). Thematically, the album is very cohesive, however Robert dives deeper into themes of loss and the passing of time than we've heard before. Robert is reckoning with the sad reality that the end is near, and "there's nothing you can do to change the end." Songs of a Lost World is the true successor to Disintegration. It will make you cry. A masterpiece!
